Quick Start

Note: Pentaho Server version has changed to 11 now. This is in preparation for GA later this year.

Installation Prerequisites

  1. Ensure you have access to this folder: https://hcpanywhere.hitachivantara.com/u/lMySGfPMkiWGzJIr/679e7a2a-ced0-4607-a9f4-28e35fdb628c?l. Please reach out to Marine Lesnard (marine.lesnard@hitachivantara.com) for access.

  2. Pentaho Server 11.0 installed. Use pentaho-server-ee.zip (Archive Install) from the folder above.

  3. The following files downloaded from the folder above:

    1. pentaho-app-shell-core.zip

    2. pentaho-app-shell-home.zip

    3. pentaho-app-shell-browse-files.zip

    4. semantic-model-editor-plugin.zip

    5. webttle-plugin.zip

    6. webttle-carte-api-plugin.zip

  4. User performing the installation must have Read / Write permissions to the BA Server plugin directories

  5. If this is the first time you are deploying these plugins, you will need to use a new License URL as we have introduced license validation for these features. Please reach out to Marine Lesnard (marine.lesnard@hitachivantara.com) for access. If you have already deployed these plugins before, you can continue to use your current License URL.

Installation Steps

  1. Ensure that Pentaho Server is installed. See #2 in Installation Prerequisites.

  2. Unzip the following files

    1. pentaho-app-shell-core.zip

    2. pentaho-app-shell-home.zip

    3. pentaho-app-shell-browse-files.zip

    4. semantic-model-editor-plugin.zip

    5. webttle-plugin.zip

  3. You should now have the following unzipped folders

    1. app-shell

    2. pas-home

    3. pas-browse-files

    4. semantic-model-editor

    5. pentaho-webttle

  4. Copy these folders to %PENTAHO_HOME%/pentaho-server/pentaho-solutions/system. This is the typical approach to deploy BA Server plugins.

  5. Unzip webttle-carte-api-plugin.zip. You should now have a folder webttle-carte-api-plugin.

  6. Copy webttle-carte-api-plugin to %PENTAHO_HOME%/pentaho-server/pentaho-solutions/system/kettle/plugins

  7. Restart / Start Pentaho Server. All plugins should now be deployed. Validate by navigating to http://<IP>:<PORT>/pentaho/plugin/app-shell/content/. You should see the following:
