If this is your first experience with the Pentaho BI Suite Community Edition, you should read through this short introductory PDF to quickly acquaint yourself with the software.

The Pentaho BI Suite Community Edition is made available free of charge, and distributed under several free-as-in-freedom open source licenses including GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2 and LGPL), Mozilla Public License (MPL) and Common Public License (CPL).

The spirit of free software is community participation and this wiki is for the community and maintained by the community. Please correct mistakes that you find, add detail to unclear sections, add missing content and update documentation as the software changes. It contains hundreds of articles related to every piece of the BI Suite, but it is by no means comprehensive. Contribute whatever documentation you can, preferably following this content template.

Please do not leave comments on Wiki pages if you need help. The Pentaho community forum is the place to post help questions. Non documentation related wiki comments will be deleted immediately and without warning. Use comments only to communicate issues with Wiki pages that you cannot correct yourself through editing the page content. Once the issues identified in comments have been addressed, they will be deleted by the Wiki moderators. Please do not take it personally if your comments are deleted; it is necessary to remove them to avoid cluttering the content.

The Pentaho community forum is the best place to ask for help with technical issues relating to Pentaho software. Experienced Pentaho users and Pentaho software engineers regularly participate there.
