- Quit the application(s) you will be upgrading.
- Download the Pentaho Big Data Plugin 5.0.4 from support.
- Download the Pentaho Hadoop Hive JDBC Driver from support.
- Delete the Pentaho Big Data Plugin Plugin folder located:
- Kettle Spoon: data-integration/plugins/pentaho-big-data-plugin
- Report Designer: report-designer/plugins/pentaho-big-data-plugin - Mac Users: Right Click and Show Contents on "Pentaho Report Designer.app" to find the plugins Directory
- BA Server: biserver_ce/pentaho-solutions/system/kettle/plugins/pentaho-big-data-plugin
- Unzip pentaho-big-data-plugin-5.0.4.zip into the folder where you deleted the 5.0.1 plugin. The unzip should have created a new pentaho-big-data-plugin folder.
- Delete the Pentaho Hadoop Hive JDBC Driver located:
- Kettle Spoon: data-integration/lib/pentaho-hadoop-hive-jdbc-shim-5.0.1.jar
- Report Designer: report-designer/lib/jdbc/pentaho-hadoop-hive-jdbc-shim-5.0.1.jar - Mac Users: Right Click and Show Contents on "Pentaho Report Designer.app" to find the lib Directory
- BA Server: biserver-ce/tomcat/webapps/pentaho/WEB-INF/lib/pentaho-hadoop-hive-jdbc-shim-5.0.1.jar
- Copy pentaho-hadoop-hive-jdbc-shim-5.0.4.jar to the lib directory where you deleted the 5.0.1 version.

Dialog and UI issues There is a known issue with Kettle spoon on Mavericks and an swt.jar upgrade should fix display issues and issues related to the file dialog.
- Quit Spoon
- Download the latest SWT Jar from support
- Replace the swt.jar located in data-integration/libswt/osx64 with the new one
Bad .app file If Mavericks complains about a broken or corrupt .app file, there is a new one available that is correctly configured.

- Replace the Pentaho Data Integration.app with the new one
